At the Rockland Historical Society, one of our primary goals is to provide the tools and information for Rockland and area residents and for our many visitors from around the United States and beyond to be able to research local people from their families and local places where their families may have lived. We also help people learn about houses they purchase in Rockland, the background of the streets where they live and the history of neighborhoods both new and old.
We accomplish this goal by helping people to do on site research at the Society headquarters in Rockland and by sharing our many publications relating to aspects of our history and local life.
Unfortunately, for the second half of 2024, our headquarters at the lower level of the Rockland Public Library are closed to the public because of damage from mold and resulting serious bad air quality. While we work to make the decisions and secure the facilities to move forward, please email us below of write to us at PO Box 1331, Rockland, Maine 04841 or contact us through our Facebook page and we will make every effort to help you.
