About Rockland Historical Society

Our Mission

To Collect, preserve and share the oral, written and photographic history of Rockland and the Rockland area of the State of Maine; to collect, preserve and display to the public material objects illustrative and demonstrative of the customs, modes and habits of those who lived in our area in former times; to perpetuate the memory of those people who by their labor and heroism contributed to making the history of this area; and to compile, write and publish aspects of the history of Rockland and the Rockland area.
